Zagotovo ob besedi odpadki pomislite na slabosti pretiranega onesna\u017eevanja okolja. To nas ne presene\u010da, kajti po raziskavah v gospodinjstvu letno zavr\u017eemo ve\u010d kot tono odpadkov. Tako predstavljajo velik izziv sodobne dru\u017ebe. Kljub velikim te\u017eavam, ki jih povzro\u010dajo okolju, moramo najti na\u010dine, kako bi jih uporabili kot ponovni vir surovin. To dose\u017eemo z recikliranjem ter tako prispevamo k zmanj\u0161anju porabe naravnih virov in energije.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Potrebno je ozave\u0161\u010danje in izobra\u017eevanje ljudi o pravilnem ravnanju z njimi, zmanj\u0161evanje odpadkov in pravilno recikliranje, ki igra klju\u010dno vlogo pri ohranjanju okolja. Recikliranje prispeva k zmanj\u0161anju koli\u010dine odpadkov na odlagali\u0161\u010dih, tudi divjih, o katerih bomo razpravljali v nadaljevanju.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Odpadek je snov ali predmet, ki ga posameznik zavr\u017ee. Razvr\u0161\u010damo jih po viru nastanka, ki jih delimo na 20 skupin in podskupin: – odpadni papir (kartoni, \u010dasopisi, knjige\u2026) – odpadno steklo (steklenice, kozarci, kro\u017eniki\u2026) – odpadna embala\u017ea (konzerve, stiropor, vre\u010dke\u2026) – me\u0161ani odpadki (elastike, gumbi, sponke\u2026) – biolo\u0161ki odpadki (ostanki hrane, zemlja, ro\u017ee\u2026) – kosovni odpadki (pohi\u0161tvo, hladilniki, pe\u010dice\u2026) – nevarni odpadki (akumulatorji, zdravila, baterije\u2026)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mogo\u010de se spra\u0161ujete, zakaj so potrebne skupine, po katerih lo\u010dujemo odpadke. Naj vam pojasnimo. Nekatere odpadke, kot so odpadna embala\u017ea, steklo, papir, odpadna elektri\u010dna in elektronska oprema, baterije, akumulatorje in gume, lahko recikliramo in iz njih naredimo nove izdelke, saj so ustvarjeni iz kakovostnih surovin. Tako ohranimo naravne vire (drevesa, voda, nafto), zmanj\u0161amo koli\u010dino porabljene energije in emisije toplogrednih plinov. Ta proces imenujemo recikliranje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poglejmo si potek recikliranja plasti\u010dne embala\u017ee, pri kateri gre odpadek skozi ve\u010d faz. 1. LO\u010cEVANJE<\/strong>, kjer posamezniki odpadek pravilno lo\u010dijo v zabojnik za embala\u017eo, 2. RO\u010cNO UREJANJE<\/strong>, da zaposleni preverijo, ali se med odpadki skriva snov, ki ni embala\u017ea, 3. MLETJE<\/strong>, kjer naprave zmeljejo vse odpadke v majhne ko\u0161\u010dke, 4. \u010cI\u0160\u010cENJE<\/strong> s pomo\u010djo vode 5. SEGREVANJE IN PRETOPITEV<\/strong>, da odpadek izgubi svojo obliko, ter teko\u010dino vlijejo v nove kalupe in 6. nastanek NOVEGA IZDELKA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gnila banana, ki je ne nameravate uporabiti, postan in star kruh ter mrzel krompir so tudi odpadki, toda ali ste vedeli, da vam teh surovin ni treba zavre\u010di, vendar lahko iz njih naredite nove, okusne, sve\u017ee jedi?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iz gnile banane poskusite narediti bananin kruh, ki bo z dodatkom \u010dokoladic ali orehov polep\u0161al vzdu\u0161je in s svojim vonjem preplavil celotno stanovanje. Star kruh lahko uporabite za pohane rezine in krompir za svaljke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kam pa vi odlagate odpadke?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verjetno na ekolo\u0161ke otoke, kjer imamo \u0161tevilne zabojnike, vendar ali ste vedeli, da imate na voljo tudi 120 zbirnih centrov, kamor lahko odnesete ve\u010dje kosovne odpadke? Nekatere lahko celo oddamo v trgovskih centrih (baterije, sijalke), pri vulkanizerju (gume) in v lekarnah (zdravila), zato res ni potrebno, da pove\u010dujemo divja odlagali\u0161\u010da, s katerimi se v zadnjih letih vse bolj soo\u010damo. Ta so \u0161kodljiva tako za naravo in \u017eivali. Odpadki v okolju razpadajo zelo razli\u010dno, npr. otro\u0161ke plenice za razgradnjo potrebujejo 500 let, plastenka potrebuje 450 let, plo\u010devinka 300 let, konzerva 100 let, pulover 1 leto. Celo papirnata vre\u010dka za svojo razgradnjo potrebuje 1 mesec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARE OUR PRODUCTS REALLY DISPOSABLE?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surely, when you think of the word waste<\/em>, you think of the disadvantages of excessive environmental pollution. This does not surprise us, because according to research, we throw away over one tonne of waste material per household every year. Thus, waste represents a major challenge for modern society. Because of its great negative impact on the environment, we must find ways to use it as a renewable source of raw materials. We can achieve this by recycling and thus contribute to reducing the consumption of natural resources and energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is necessary to raise awareness and educate people about convenient handling, waste reduction and proper recycling, which plays a key role in preserving the environment. Recycling contributes to reducing the amount of waste in landfills, including garbage dumps, which we will discuss below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waste includes substances or objects that an individual throws away. We classify them according to the source of their origin, dividing them into 20 groups and subgroups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– waste paper (cardboard, newspapers, books, …)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– waste glass (bottles, glasses, plates, …)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– waste packaging (cans, Styrofoam, bags, …)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– mixed waste (elastic bands, buttons, clips, …)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– biological waste (food scraps, soil, flowers, …)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– bulky waste (furniture, refrigerators, ovens, …)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– hazardous waste (medicines, batteries, …)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may be wondering why we need groups by which we separate waste. Let us explain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some waste, such as waste packaging, glass, paper, waste electrical and electronic equipment, batteries and tyres can be recycled and made into new products, as they are created from quality raw materials. In this way, we preserve natural resources (trees, water, oil) while reducing the amount of energy used as well as limiting greenhouse gas emissions. This process is called recycling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s take a look at the process of recycling plastic packaging, where the waste goes through several stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. SEPARATION<\/strong>, where individuals correctly separate the waste into a container for packaging,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. MANUAL SORTING<\/strong> for employees to check if there is a substance other than packaging hidden among the waste,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. GRINDING<\/strong>, where devices break down all the waste into small pieces,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. CLEANING<\/strong> with water<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. HEATING AND MELTING<\/strong> so that the waste loses its shape and the liquid is poured into new moulds, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. the creation of a NEW PRODUCT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A rotten banana that you don’t intend to use, stale bread and cold potatoes are also considered waste. However, did you know that you don’t have to throw these raw materials away and actually use them to make delicious fresh dishes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Try a banana bread recipe with chocolates or nuts from a stale banana. The smell will brighten the atmosphere and spread through the entire apartment. The old bread can be used for French toast, and the potatoes for potato rolls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you dispose of your waste?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You probably dispose of the waste on ecological islands, where we have numerous containers. However, did you know that you also have 120 collection centres where you can take larger bulky waste?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some can even be given away in shopping centres (batteries, light bulbs), at tyre repair shops (tires) and in pharmacies (medicines), so there is really no need to increase the garbage dump. This is a problem that we have been facing more frequently in recent years. Such waste is harmful to both nature and animals. Waste in the environment disintegrates at different rates e.g. baby diapers need 500 years to decompose, a bottle takes 450 years, a can of soda 300 years, a can of fish 100 years and a sweater 1 year. Even a paper bag needs approximately 1 month to decompose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The amount of still usable discarded materials is huge and has been increasing over the years, but every individual can help reduce it. There is still hope to make the world a better place for our younger generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
